DESCRIPTION:The aim of the course is to present current trends in proteomic
 s and to demonstrate the principles and capabilities of proteomic strategi
 es to answer various research questions. Applications span basic research\
 , clinical proteomics\, biomarker discovery\, microbiology\, and plant bio
 logy.\n\nThe course will cover theory of biological mass spectrometry (MS)
  and LC-MS/MS instrumentations\, presenting the commonly used MS-based pro
 teomic workflows from study design and sample preparation to data analysis
  and bioinformatics. Invited speakers will highlight applications in prote
 omics and related fields. \n\nTeaching will be performed through lectures\
 , instrument demonstrations\, laboratory exercises and literature workshop
 s. During the course\, students will design and present a proteomics study
  based on their own research\, receiving expert feedback to refine and str
 engthen their study design.
