Clinical Genomics Uppsala was established to facilitate translation of genomic methods to healthcare and has so far contributed to clinical implementation of more than 100 diagnostic tests. The aim of this workshop is to share the experiences gained from this work to facilitate translation of additional methods through SciLifeLab.
We will give a brief outline of the process of implementation of new methods into Swedish healthcare, implications of the in vitro diagnostic regulation (IVDR) and an overview of how we work at Clinical Genomics Uppsala. We will also give some examples of development projects that we have been involved in. This will be followed by an interactive part, where participants will work with mapping the translational potential and bottlenecks of a method from their own unit. All participants are thus encouraged to bring an example of a method for this work.

Agenda

  • 13:00-14:30 The regulatory landscape and development of diagnostic tests at Clinical Genomics Uppsala. Case presentations
  • 14:30-15:00 Coffee break
  • 15:00-15:45 Interactive work with methods brought by participants
  • 15:45-16:30 Joint discussion about the examples from participants
