Description

With the collaboration of five research institutes, two industry partners, and many Universities, three streams of the HiC technique were filmed in 2024 onsite at BMC Uppsala. These have been digitized and are now available as a digital course, openly available to all.

Aim

The aim of this course is to deliver an open, sustainable training in laboratory preparation of Hi-C libraries for reference genome sequencing of non-model organisms for BGE partner sequencing centers.

Course contents

  • In the Introductory stream, researchers with no previous experience of the HiC technique are guided in performing the Arima HiC protocol for the first time.
  • In the Challenging Samples stream, Hi-C experts contribute specialized knowledge and experience while performing the Arima HiC protocol on challenging samples.
  • In the AssemblyLink stream, researchers with previous experience in the Hi-C technique perform and troubleshoot a variety of samples with the AssemblyLink protocol.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • independently prepare HiC libraries of low-complexity samples.
  • prepare HiC libraries at their home labs.
  • understand the most crucial steps of the protocol
  • troubleshoot crucial steps of the protocol in their home labs when applied to high-complexity samples
